This purpleheart wood table is made from the salvaged main maststep from the sailing yacht “Apache”. She was one of 16 Cox & Stephens designed Seawanhaka Schooners, built in Bath Maine, at the Bath Iron Works in 1925. The 58’ boat was designed for members of the Seawanhaka Corinthian and New York Yacht Clubs, to be raced in Long Island Sound. Documentation on “Apache” and her sisterships can be found in the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, Maine. She was also featured in Wooden Boat Magazine #139, Dec. 1997. This original piece is available for purchase.
